Old Time Malacca

I just dig back some of my old time photos and found something nice and interesting. It was way back in 2007 when I first bought my digital SLR from Sony and at that time I'm so into photography and always wanted to take lots of photos....

I felt so much wanted to share my work with you and it was taken with Sony A100 mounted with kit lens...

Broga Hill - Early Chapter

There you go...on the last day of January 2010, a few of us decided to go for a hike in Broga Hill. I've heard so much of it...view so much photos taken by others...and thought that it would be a good place for photography...and luckily...the place didn't let me down....

The very morning, at around 5 am... 7 of us starts our journey to the top...and we reach there before 6 am and the sky was still dark...

Half way up there, I'm so regret that I did not FFK them...caused very tiring can!!! For so long didn't have such activity....fuhh...

Finally we were there...and it's only 6 am and there were quite lots of people...and sooner when the time almost struck at 7....the pasar pagi already started on the hill top....

Begin the Journey to the NORTH!

Life is in the fast lane! I still remember last month stuffs just like it happen in yesterday...

Here I brought it to my blog post, and I remember November was like a long journey, happening, hectic, enjoyable, and most memorable.

The first thing that I'm able to dig it out was this....

DSC02987.jpg

We were once in Ipoh last month where we were on our way to Whalen and Debbie wedding ceremony up in the NORTH. We stopped by and had our lunch there, Fu Shan the old and famous name in Dim Sum history.

Here's a few items that I managed to capture...

DSC02983.jpg

DSC02989.jpg

After we finished our lunch, we continued our journey up to the north!

Here are some random introduction....

DSC02996.jpg

We did bring in some anonymous guess with us...and I happen to hear them whispering to each other....

DSC03002.jpg

Just to be sure we could reach there on time without loss in the Island....

DSC03004.jpg

Now we're ready, so buckle up yourself, and we're good to go!

See you in the coming post for more details of them making history on their BIG DAY!!!

Penang Food Trip: Finale

Okay...this will be the Penang Food Trip finale post...so....to match with the title...this post will solely focus on food....

We went for dinner at Chai Leng Park...a place I used to go very frequent during childhood....

Now lets get food serious... Mi Tai Bak aka Lou Shu Fun was one of my favorite and the serving style is totally different from KL...

DSC01667.jpg

I hardly get bored with it!

I also had Hokkien Mee aka Prawn Mee....

DSC01671.jpg

You hardly find such Prawn Mee in an almost clear soup...it only turns chili red when you add in chili sauce...

I forgotten this and I always got it mixed up....is it Loh Mee or Lam Mee?! Anyone?!

DSC01673.jpg

It's not easy to look for a good Curry Mee...even in Penang Island or mainland itself....this one was okay only....

DSC01676.jpg

But still a lot better than most in KL...

Mom not forgetting to buy this....

DSC01680.jpg

Apong has been so common that it had become a snack to me....very nice...crunchy when it's still hot...and it won't fill up fast...so..you can eat as much as you can!

Okay done with dinner! Just to cut the posting short...immediately now...we are going to have breakfast for the next morning...

I die die will try all the Curry Mee that I stumbled upon....even I know the best Curry Mee was in BM morning market...but it's just that I won't be able to wake up that early to eat it.....sigh....

So here's the curry mee I tasted in Bukit Tengah for breakfast...

DSC01693.jpg

So far this is the best among those curry mee that I tried on previous days...

And sister finally able to order Mee Jawa....

DSC01699.jpg

Not bad also....boleh tahan ar!!!

Alright...Done...Mission Accomplished for the food trip and after the breakfast...we straight head back to KL...

See you next round...thanks for viewing and hope that the food at least makes you feel a little hungry by now....bye! ^_____^

Penang Food Trip: Laksa Durian

It's time to get hungry...and we drove all the way to Batu Ferringhi and planning to find something to eat there as we go round the island via Teluk Bahang.

We wanted to eat Assam Laksa which is from Malay....and at first we saw one makcik at the road side....however...we just gave up due to not able to stop by and happen that there's no customer...so...we just proceed further....

Okay...we got it....here's the Assam Laksa...

DSC01648.jpg

This Assam Laksa taste so bad...and I never eat one served with Sardine Fish...OMG CAN! (Later only we found that the makcik that we had missed was suppose to be the one actually taste best....fainted!)

And so....we just proceed to round island after the ugly taste of Assam Laksa...

It's very coincidence that we saw this....

DSC01665.jpg

At that time...there shouldn't be any one selling durian....but according to the man..it's from old tree...which taste not the best...not so great...but it's not bad after all....

DSC01651.jpg

If you want to tell the durian is good or not...I think you should be able to judge from this expression....

DSC01659.jpg

Mom enjoyed it a lot!!!

Okay...done with durian...continue round back to George Town and preparing to have dinner later....

We are going to have our dinner back in mainland...so...will be right back with promising food.... ^____^

Penang Food Trip: Sleeping Buddha

Since we not hungry yet...and it's not time for lunch yet...we went to visit another sacred place...The Sleeping Buddha...and it's located at Pulau Tikus.

But before we went in to the temple...opposite of the road is another temple...a Burmese temple...so...we decided to visit it first...

Lets go...

DSC01626.jpg

The first thing we did was to visit the Buddha and say some prayer first...

DSC01627.jpg

There's something really amazed me alot...look at the ceiling carving and deco...

DSC01634.jpg

Although that was not my first time visit...but only now I noticed that the ceiling deco is superb impressive....

DSC01636.jpg

It's real nice!

Okay! Done with the Burmese temple....next....

DSC01642.jpg

The Sleeping Buddha is real long....

DSC01644.jpg

and I've no idea how it is...

Done with the visit! It's time to fill up our stomach...next will be back on track...FOOD...I'm coming!!!

Penang Food Trip: The Pagoda

Okay...after breakfast....we went to a nearby hotspot for tourist.... "Kek Lok Si" .... a temple up on the hill with a well known Pagoda as well as the giant statue of God of Mercy.

DSC01563.jpg

If I've not mistaken....that was my first time visit this place via the drive in entrance....Previously we used to walk up a very long stair case to reach the temple...and it seems like now is very much convenient....(Thumbs Up!)

In the temple...we prayed for a while...

DSC01565.jpg

Besides praying...I now pay more attention to the interior built-up .... the ceiling looks real complex to me....

DSC01568.jpg

Not only the ceiling...but the pillar as well...

DSC01596.jpg

We then walk around the temple...and FYI, the temple compound is quite large....

Here's a view of the Pagoda ....

DSC01580.jpg

The whole temple...only this arch...only this sign....has the actual name of the temple...."Kek Lok Si"

DSC01589.jpg

We kept on walk around and snap some more photos....

Here is a photo of the view of George Town...

DSC01585.jpg

Another view of George Town together with the temple...

DSC01610.jpg

Nice can!

When we are about to leave the temple and heading to the next destination....

DSC01612.jpg

the dark clouds arrived and it's the signal for us to leave.....okay then...time to move on .... and more photos coming....kthxbye for now! ^____^"

Penang Food Trip: Food Faces

The night before in Penang was not so great....but today we are going to make it a better one...

Before I go further...here are some shots of my family during our breakfast at Air Itam area...

Here they are...ever entertaining Sister!

DSC01529.jpg

Posing Dad!

DSC01531.jpg

Serious Mom!

DSC01538.jpg

Okay...now lets make our way to a better day in Penang...

DSC01540.jpg

The taste of this hokkien mee was okay...but not great...(just to let you know...the day wasn't pleasant at all...caused it was super difficult to look out for food on that day...we really have no idea??!! The whole Penang was like sleeping in the middle of the week!)

So immediately...we jumped to the next stall....with some hope...

DSC01545.jpg

DSC01551.jpg

DSC01553.jpg

Phewww!!! At least this round was a little satisfying...and I consider this as better than nothing at all...

Okay! Lets get over it more food later....next will be going places for a while...and since we're in Air Itam...we decided to pay a visit to the nearby sacred place.....a place I missed since my teenage era....can you guess where it is?!

DSC01554.jpg

Will be back with more photos....stay tune! ^____^"
