Penang Food Trip: Old Style

Back to last month when I had a whole week off from my office....I went for a short vacation with my family locally. I normally used to go places with my family at least once a year....but for this year...it's a little too early for us to do so...but who really cares...sooner or later also the same...

So here we repeat it...Penang again...(seems like we are not getting bored with it)...our objective for this short trip will be hunting for food ... lets go!

The first night...we were at Penang Island...and we went to look for supper around the corner where we stayed....(it's nearby love lane and Japanese New Lane)

We found this place....



a pretty old place...and we decided to give it a shot...

while waiting for our food....I snapped some photos around...



There's nothing interesting about this photo....it's just that I love how my 50mm prime lens performed....^___^



This backlane feel real like those Hong Kong triad movies...and there's also those youngster with tattoo sitting at the entrance of the the back lane...pretty scarry huh!!!

Okay...food was served and I found that nothing was tasty and interesting....and especially this....



Yackkkss! I don't know why my mom ordered this....the taste was pretty awful...

The first time I tried such curry mee in Penang....



I really didn't expect such food can be found in Penang....it's really a no no....so...don't simply try it...better still....avoid it!!!

Unwind the Comforts...

It's just partially true from the previous post. Why? It's because my main objective to Bali was actually to attend an annual conference held for the Asian Card Users (ACU) across Asia Pacific region. It's an event held by my company every year for its customers and this was the 16th. So here we go...5 days stay with one and a half day conference ....meaning that the rest of the days are mine...LoL!!!

So...on the way to Bali, from the above...I got this eye catching view of a volcano...(dunno what's the name of it though)



I always enjoy the aerial view...and of course I won't miss this as well...



Okay...the airplane landed at around 1.30 PM...and we were welcome by the hotel pick-up service...and just before we head to the hotel....



After the group shot...here we come The Westin....it's a five stars resort located at Nusa Dua, a place full of five stars resorts. When we reached the resorts, we then checked in to our room....and each of us got our own room...so...presenting my room at The Westin Resort & Spa....





Unwind is a service mark of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. The room was damn comfy for one like me...I would want to stay there for couple of weeks for some short breakaways....if only someone would be kind enough to pay the bill....*ahem*

Next...we head out to look for some food as some of us didn't take our lunch...

Bali Here I Come!!!

Okay....tomorrow I'll be leaving to Bali!!!!



Meaning that I'll be away for couple of days...and I'll only be back on Sunday night. But don't worry...those pending and unfinished post will be scheduled to post though...so...while I'm away...hope you still enjoy reading my blog....BYE!!!

Dramatic Sunset at Tanjung Sepat

As the title revealed my primary objective of the whole outing....I'm here for the sunset....that's why...I reach Tg. Sepat a bit late....but still I waited for hours before the sunset..and even after we had our dinner still not time yet for sunset....

At first....I'm so worried that...I can't see the sunset due to the hazy sky...but very lucky me....right after our dinner....we head off to the quay....and here's what catches my eyes and heart most....



with the leave-less branches...it did looks and feels spooky....hehe...

Another favourite here....



just in time...the boat was captured in my frame...and portrayed..."It's time to go back" feel....and I find....quite dramatic too....LoL....

Dramatic can...???!!



The dramatic effect was tune in the photoshop....but I do somehow like it so much....the actual lighting of the real condition was something like this though...a solo portrait of my self was taken by my sis...with the aid of wireless flash(credit goes to Sony)

You can see the light on my face was real...it's my wireless flash in action....holding the camera with right hand in portraiture mode and the left hand holding the flash up at the corner pointing at me....and voila...here's the beautiful effect using wireless flash....

If you had noticed from the previous Lover's Bridge pic...I'm sure that you had notice we're at the seaside right...? Yes...next...we're off to a better view of the seaside.....



nice can...??? Of course I've photoshoped most of the seaside pics to my taste of colors....hope you will like it. It's because...the scorching sunlight and hazy view that lead me to photoshop.



Low tide indicating it's still early....and I shall reveal my primary objectives for this outing in the next post...(aiya...by now...most of you clever one already know what's the objective can???) LoL!!!

the most enjoyable thing at the seaside was that....I saw a few dogs playing around on the beach....among the few shots I got...the following is the shot I love most....

Mushroom Farm 'n Lover's Bridge

Okay...here's what I'd found in Tanjung Sepat....



this Vita Agrotech is actually a place that grows mushroom....not those normal mushroom that we use to eat....it's called Ling Zhi...a type of medicine of many use. They not only grow...but they did produce and do packaging as well...



this is how they grow each mushroom....all were stack on the rack with separate sack for each seeding.....when it grows....it will looks like this....





as we're already here....they do sell those finish products....and we sure go buy something from them lor...LoL....

Before we left to another spot....there's a spot too just behind the mushroom farm...so we walk there....



yes..the lover's bridge..but I don't know how's the story came about...hehehe...after snapping some photos here.....we left to another spot...there I snap pics the most....I'll show you later in next posting.....stay tune

Bangkok Day 4 - Free n Easy.....

It's the last day in Bangkok....we woke up early in the morning, check-out from the hotel and straight to Ricky's apartment to place our luggages. Then together we went to perform the final all out task (especially the girls) at MBK. It's a Sungai Wang type of shopping complex....

I'm not so interested in shopping on the last day.....since I've used up all my Thai Baht and left only the money for my meal and some standby cash in case of airport taxes.....

Ricky and I went on windows shopping and ends up in McDonalds.... yes...I want to try something new which I haven't try before from any McDs in Malaysia.....so Ricky went to buy all these.....



but what I've mentioned was actually this....lol



it's just simply d'licious....yummy...I love it so much....

After meeting up again with mates....we proceed to walk walk around the area ....

We spotted this on the way to Hard Rock...and it's not Elise...don't know what model...but one word "Geng!"



Okay...now this is Bangkok's Hard Rock Cafe.....





They did went in to save the planet....they bought some Hard Rock goods.....

When they're done...we're kinda tired from walking already...and look what I've found here....



Interestingly....these 2 posers...are not much different from this scene...lol



Enough break...lets go back...and we shall walk again....kekeke....

Heading to the nearest sky train/subway....I got some random shots....

Then we waited for Path to pick us to airport....good bye Ricky....good bye Bangkok...

Bangkok Day 3 - Part 3 (Final)

What else to hurry us more......we're hungry again by that time....hehe...



As you can see Fenny was so bothered by her hunger...she's buying these...she doesn't care it's roadside or what....



Yes....we all are going to eat these....droollll



finished eating all these snacks...now we're able to last our hunger till the next stop for our dinner....



After the dinner.....Path took us to the Free Tax Zone Mall...

From there....we managed to bought some tax-less goods...but only able to collect it in the airport when we departure back to Malaysia.

After the shopping....and while waiting for Path....we did camho and take some night shots of the place....





Next...we're going to Bangkok's famous night bazaar...Suan Lum Night Bazaar...

The atmosphere in the bazaar is most likely to be similar with our Petaling Street...but I personally think that..it's more fun and happening in Suan Lum. Again..lots of cheap stuff to buy...so...we all went out there to grab whatever is missing in our shopping list before it's too late...since it's the last night in Bangkok.....

After hours of buying and walking...yes...we're done enough with shopping and felt a bit tired.....and we planned to go nearby place to have a drink....

There....we found this place actually offering such a huge one....



I fainted and loled...how are we supposed to finish this....

sure our faces wanted to camho with this 3 litres giant.....





After the drinking session...we all were tired...and straight went back to the hotel...and hope to get some good rest before the sunrise again.....
